Sunday Night Cards - Trendy Trees

I love to make cards, but I have little time to do it. However, I have decided to set aside some time on Sunday evenings each week to make at least one card. And tonight, I actually sat down and made one! I also just embarrassed the heck out of my 14 year old son, who has a girl visiting tonight. I made them both come into my dining-room and rate my card. They both gave me an "A!" I am sure they did that so that they could go back to watching the movie they rented and not have to discuss my card any further. :o)

Anyhow, I do love the card! Here's the recipe -- all products are Stampin' Up!

Card stock - real red from bold brights, very vanilla from the neutrals pack
Stamp Set: trendy trees
Ink -- all from earth elements (ruby red, garden green, pumpkin pie
Accessories - buttons, oval punch and scallop oval punch. I also ran the very vanilla card stock through the big shot to create the dot effect. The ribbon is "real red" grosgrain.

Summer Fun

It's finally summer here in Connecticut. I think that means we are supposed to do fun things, like go to the beach, have a barbecue, and wear flip flops. I am good with the flip flops, but not good at any other summer activities, except, of course, watching baseball. I am a "baseball mom," and also a baseball fan. I love to go to a live game, and watch it on tv. Of course, at my house we are Mets fans, and that's not an easy thing to be. The Mets are woeful at best. They never win, and they only have one star player that is not injured. You just can't watch the Mets these days, which leaves me plenty of time to watch Soap Net. I am almost embarrassed to say that I am on top of the story line of almost every major soap opera. I really need to get a life! Anyone care to invite me to a barbecue?
