A Woman's Right To Vote

I very rarely get serious on this blog. I use it for fun, and to let some steam off about my nutty life. And I use it to promote Three Chickadees. But today, I am going to use it for a new purpose, just one time, because I feel that I have something important to say, and I want it to be heard.

Let me start by saying that I have a really hard time with politics. I can't get past the crap politicians spew to find out their stance on the real issues. They just turn me off. That being said, I got an email today from a friend about the sacrifices made by great women before us to secure our right to vote. In this country women have only had the right to vote for 88 years. It seems unbelievable, and it is frightening. So today, I think we should all take a step back and think about how important it is to be a strong woman, and to stand up for what we believe -- whatever that may be. I won't tell you who I think we should vote for or why -- each individuals political orientation is their own business, not mine. I will tell you that I am proud to be a strong, and independent woman, and I just wanted to say thanks to the many great women who paved the way for me to be me.
